America's
Boating Club®
The United States Power
Squadrons® (USPS) is America's largest non-profit boating organization and is
truly America's Boating Club. Dedicated to making boating safer and
more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and related
subjects, our members are boating families who contribute to their
communities by promoting safe boating through education. The USPS has over 43,000 members
organized into 445 squadrons in the United States and it's territories.
These squadrons are grouped into
33 geographic districts with the Green Bay
Sail and Power Squadron located in
District
10 along with ten other squadrons.
The Green Bay Sail and Power
Squadron was formed in 1940 by 10 local boaters, becoming the 52nd squadron
of the USPS. From those early years we have continued to grow and provided the
resources to help other squadrons form in northeast Wisconsin. Our
squadron is a strong organization with approximately 125
members that supports an active educational program, fun social activities
throughout the year and community service. Meetings are held at the
Holiday Inn City Centre and our membership can be seen
boating on the bay of Green Bay as well as on Lake Michigan. Whether you are
on the waters of the Fox River or are at the northern tip of the Door
Peninsula, the Green Bay Sail and Power Squadron burgee flies proudly on our members’ boats.
If you believe safe boating is fun, enjoy the
camaraderie of boaters and want to help promote boating safety in your
community, then you are at the right
website. After you have reviewed our site we encourage you to consider joining our squadron
so you can take advantage of the
many benefits of membership, especially the best
self-development programs available! |
